The Ramblers Ball is BACK this summer, and this time it is hitting the road! The popular open-mic poetry night created by Digbeth’s social enterprise café, Evolve, and friends, will return at 6pm on 11 July, taking over the stunning grounds of Blakesley Hall for one night only.
The Ramblers Ball will be bringing beats, eats, and treats with it, as well as three stellar headliners you will not want to miss. The stage will be set for three show-stopping main acts including Birmingham’s very own Casey Bailey; Hannah Swings, who you will recognise from Nationwide Building Society’s recent national advert; and ThinkWriteFly, aka Adrian B Earle.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Blakesley Hall, the poetry event will bring together the history of Birmingham with the future of the UK’s spoken word scene. You will be able to enjoy one of the city’s most treasured sites, while taking in the unrivalled verse and even taking to the stage to give it a go for yourself.
The open-mic night is open to poetry amateurs and prose-fessionals alike, with pre-bookable spaces on the stage available for all (just email firstname.lastname@example.org for a slot!) as well as opportunities to sign up on the night. Whether its flash fiction, a short story, or poetry, this is the perfect platform to perform your work.
If you don't fancy taking to the stage, you can still join the fun as a spectator. Wood-fired, fresh pizza will be available, so grab a slice of the action and book your £5 ticket today. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to supporting the incredible work of Evolve, so your pizza and poetry will be completely guilt free.
